In 2016, my dad passed away from stage 4 cancer. Ten years later, my mom, Bersal "Birdie" Camey-Santana, has been diagnosed with lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes. It's been a nightmare scenario for our family.
Since the beginning of the year, my mom has been struggling to work consistently as a CNA (certified nurse assistant), and this has resulted in her having to deplete her savings. I've done what I can to support her through all of this, and ultimately, we feel optimistic and hopeful that this cancer is something she can beat.
However, there's still the financial burden that looms as Birdie is fighting for her health. Chemotherapy can be draining in every sense, and right now, working has become almost impossible.
This is an unfortunate option we hate to be led to, but a necessary one to be able to focus on the next couple of months of treatments without wondering if bills can be paid is of utmost importance on this road to beating cancer.
My mom has always been a fighter, and she's had to fight more than enough in her life. This is one thing I'm just trying to ensure is an easy fight, the best ways that I can.
Every donation will go to.
- Rent
- Food
- Bills (water, electric, etc)
Until returning to work becomes a realistic possibility.
Anything helps, everything is appreciated.
I love you, mama.
