Our Family Lost Everything in the Altadena Fire—Please Help Us Recover
Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Strangers,
Our world was turned upside down by the Altadena fire. In a matter of minutes, our home—the place where we celebrated birthdays, tucked our kids into bed, and built our dreams—was reduced to ashes. Our family wasn’t harmed and for that, we are endlessly grateful. But now, we’re left with nothing but the clothes on our backs and the overwhelming question: How do we start over?
We are a family of five—Binna, Tony, and our three little ones: Kiara (7), Leia (5), and Matias (3). Our children are so young and full of life. But how do you explain to a 3-year-old that his favorite blanket is gone forever? How do you answer when your 5-year-old asks when she’ll see her bed again? These moments are heartbreaking, and as parents, all we want is to give them back the safety and comfort they’ve lost.
We’re not the only ones suffering. This fire didn’t just take from us—it tore through our entire community. Our neighbors, friends, and countless families are facing the same devastation. People who’ve lived here their whole lives now have nothing but memories.
Why We’re Asking for Your Help
We’re reaching out because we can’t do this alone. Your kindness and generosity can help us take the first steps toward rebuilding our lives—and supporting others who are in desperate need of anything insurance of emergency funds don’t cover. Here’s what your donation will help us do:
• Provide Stability for Our Kids to feel some sense of normalcy again
• Support Our Community: We want to help our neighbors recover by sharing resources and assisting with recovery efforts.
Every dollar, every share, every act of kindness makes a difference. Whether you can give $5 or $500, your support means more than words can express.
Why This Means Everything to Us
The hardest part of this journey is feeling helpless. But we’ve also seen how powerful kindness can be. Every time someone reaches out, it reminds us that we’re not alone. It reminds us that, even in the darkest times, people care.
This isn’t just about losing a house. It’s about restoring a sense of home—for our children, for our family, and for everyone in our community who has lost so much.
Even if you can’t donate, simply sharing our story with others could bring the help we so desperately need.
From the Bottom of Our Hearts, Thank You
We are humbled to ask for help, but we know that together, we can get through this. Your generosity gives us hope—and it gives our children a chance to believe in brighter days ahead.
Thank you for standing with us in this time of unimaginable loss. We will never forget your kindness.
With all our love and gratitude,
Binna, Tony, Kiara, Leia, and Matias
