Billy’s Battle with Leukemia
Donation protected
At 32 years old this was the not the way Billy, and his wife Kiera, thought he would spend the last few weeks of his 32nd year of life.
On April 16, 2023, Billy was taken to the emergency room for unexplainable bruising, headaches, nose bleeds, and visual changes. In the ER, they suspected that Billy had a form of Leukemia and they felt he would benefit from being transferred to Geisinger Danville.
On April 17, 2023, he was transferred to the ICU at Geisinger Danville and a bone marrow biopsy was performed. This confirmed that Billy had Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL). He then spent the next 28 days inpatient at Geisinger to start the induction period of his treatment.
Although APL is thankfully curable, it is a long road to recovery. Billy is unable to work for at least the next 6 months and Kiera has to take time off of work to take Billy for treatments twice a week and frequent doctors appointments.
I am asking for donations to help lessen the financial burden that comes with a cancer diagnoses. Any money raised will be put towards medical bills, medication costs, and daily living expenses.
If you are able to donate, any donation would be greatly appreciated and no donation is too small. If you unable to donate, please keep Billy and Kiera in your thoughts and prayers
