Help Billy Recover After a Hit-and-Run
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jake, and I’m asking for help for my cat, Billy, who was seriously injured after being hit by a car in West Caldwell, NJ.
Billy has been my best friend and companion for years—he’s more than a pet, he’s family. Last night, he didn’t come home, which had never happened before. I searched everywhere, calling out for him and hoping he’d come back.
The next morning, I found him lying in a neighbor’s yard—barely able to move and clearly in pain. Somehow, with only his front legs, Billy had dragged himself an entire block trying to make it home. That moment broke me. He was trying so hard to survive and get back to the one place he felt safe.
I rushed him to the emergency animal hospital, where I was told he had a broken pelvis and a severely damaged rear leg. He’s currently stable, but in rough shape. The vets are doing everything they can, but he’ll need major treatment—including surgery to repair his pelvis, and there’s a high possibility that his rear leg will need to be amputated.
The total cost of his emergency care, hospitalization, and upcoming surgeries so far is $12,500. I’m doing everything I can, but it’s a lot of money for me right now and would really appreciate some help
Billy has already shown he’s a fighter. He’s pushing through immense pain just to be here. I want to give him every chance to live the rest of his life pain-free so I can spoil him some more
If you can help—whether with a donation or by sharing this—it would mean everything to me. Every little bit helps.
Thank you for reading our story, and for supporting Billy’s fight.
With deep gratitude,
Jake & Billy
