Hi everyone,

I am writing this on behalf of my aunt, Billie Sands, who is in need of assistance to help fund a much-needed gastric bypass surgery. For six years, Billie dedicated her life to social services, working closely with families and children in foster care. She poured her heart into supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Over the past year, she has continued that same mission of service as a therapist, passionately raising awareness for mental health and showing up for others in ways that truly make a difference. Billie is the kind of person who puts everyone else before herself. Her compassion is real, her heart is huge, and anyone who has met her knows how deeply she cares. Over the last year, she has been working hard to better her health and has made incredible efforts toward weight loss. Unfortunately, due to underlying health conditions, she now needs the help of gastric bypass surgery to safely and effectively reach her goals.

Despite the fact that this surgery would greatly improve her overall health and quality of life, her insurance does not cover it. This has been an overwhelming obstacle, and it’s why we are reaching out for support. I want more than anything for my aunt to be healthy and live a long life to watch her nephew grow up!
