Help Billie out of homelessness
Donation protected
this might be the most surreal thing I’ll do in my lifetime, but here’s to hoping for a better future.
my name is Billie, and back in April 2021, I suffered a deterioration of my mental health and found myself having a nervous breakdown, causing a psychotic episode in which I proceeded to lose my home.
At 28, I have officially declared myself homeless whilst recovering at a psychiatric hospital in Glasgow, despite having come from
england.
my journey to Glasgow, and to the hospital I’m currently residing in has been a long one, with the last hurdle being housing.
today I was told that I likely don’t qualify for housing association and that’s it’s unlikely the council will assist given the criteria which I currently don’t meet, due to having had to remove myself from domestic violence situation at the peak of the deterioration of my mental health.
I understand that this was a difficult decision to make, with regards to declaring myself homeless and that there are a number of places I could stay at present but none suitable for my mental health and further recovery.
I’m asking people for donations so that I can find a place to rent and pay my bills, so that I have an address to live at and claim benefits through, after having been declared unfit for work due to recovery from my nervous breakdown.
at present, I’m recovering from bulimia and fight daily from the outpouring effects of such, and the above is absolutely detrimental to my continual well being and recovery regarding my mental health and physical circumstances.
I’ve set a target of £2,000 so as to be able to maintain housing within Scotland, and prevent any further upheaval from having already had 3 addresses in the last 12 months.
all and any donations are hugely appreciated, and all will go towards finding housing and paying my bills until I can arrange further funds via the council and benefits.
a final thanks to anyone that donates, as previously mentioned, this is my final hurdle until I can declare myself well and safe. Many thanks, Billie Whyte.
