Help Billie Jo Adapt to a New Life
Donation protected
On Tuesday, February 22 Billie Jo went into cardiac arrest at her desk. Her amazing coworkers immediately started lifesaving CPR until help arrived. She was revived and thankfully lived through the encounter, but suffered permanent damage to her spine that has left her paralyzed from the waist down. She is making huge progress towards recovery and is stable, but this is obviously a lifechanging event for our family. The condition is permanent, but her attitude towards it has been extremely positive and hopeful.
Our mom has spent her entire life caring for others. She has been the sole provider for her household where she cares for her parents (our grandparents) and children for nearly decade.
During this transitional period, our family needs assistance with creating an accessible home for someone with a disabilty. We will keep everyone updated on how she is adapting to her new life. We will need to relocate the family and get lots of new gadgets that will improve quality of life. We are trying to get her the coolest grannymobile available and motorized chairs aren't cheap!
