Yesterday when I got the mail, the Saturday following Thanksgiving, I received a letter from Social Security saying that my Disability payments were being stopped.

STOPPED AFTER 12 years of being disabled.

STOPPED with less than 10 days notice.

STOPPED AND NOW ON TOP OF IT ALL, I OWE $87,000 IN OVERPAYMENTS??

They STOPPED my Disability payments because of SOCIAL SECURITY'S ERROR.

Read that again.

The day before the government shutdown, I spoke to an agent after waiting 6 HOURS ON HOLD who told me there was no such document on her side. She made me an appointment for October 6th to go in and talk to the SS office.

I did that. I talked to agent Alan and he also stated the letter I had in my hand was NOT in his system, but must be coming from the payment processing center in Baltimore??

I went through the whole work trial process and went through it with him. It was a work attempt that DID NOT WORK.

Social Security has a right to work or ticket to work program, WHICH I TRIED TO DO BUT BASED ON DISABILITY FAILED.

It has been and was documented.

He told me everything was fine and if not, to come back in.

Well, yesterday I got a letter in the mail that a decision was made to discontinue my Disability benefits AND MY DISABLED CHILD'S BENEFITS AS WELL.

$58,000 for me to pay back AND THEN $29,000 to be paid back from my 8-year-old, non-verbal, autistic, Prader-Willi child.

ALL BECAUSE OF THEIR ERROR.

SOCIAL SECURITY ENDED MY BENEFITS BASED ON THEIR ERROR.

Not the calls I have made.

Not based on the appointments in office that I attended.

No, THEY CANCELED IT BASED ON THEIR CLERICAL ERROR AND NOW I WILL NOT ONLY NOT BE GETTING PAID IN LESS THAN 10 DAYS, we collectively owe $87,000!

They gave me two envelopes and 30 days for both my disabled self and my DISABLED CHILD TO PAY IT ALL BACK!

ALL $87,000 IN 30 DAYS FROM A DISABLED MOTHER AND A DISABLED CHILD.

When I spoke to agent Joy, I recorded the entire call and she told me she has never seen anything like what she had been seeing and this administration was doing some shady things (I have the conversation recorded and the transcript as proof).

Do you KNOW HOW MANY YEARS OF PAYMENTS THAT IS?

How can they do this? How can they get away with this?

I would 3000000% prefer to work and NOT be disabled, as proof in my work trial and right to work per Social Security and their guidelines.

I tried to work and because I did, I am being punished along with my special needs child.

I am making this humbly as I know the entire country is suffering.

I played by their rules and because of it, I now owe more money than I will make in several years of gainful employment.

I am CLINGING on hope and that somehow the right thing will be done, but in my letter it says no hope, pay in full, no payment, no bills paid, let alone Christmas.

All of this less than 1 month away from my 25th wedding anniversary.

I'll do anything to make sure my child is taken care of until this wrong is righted.
