I am 61-years old, married 42 years, and have a son who is 39-years old. In 2003, my health took a nosedive. I have been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, I have had three strokes, three spinal surgeries with at least one more in the near future, I have been diagnosed with SIADH (a chronic kidney disease of which I have only have one, lost due to kidney cancer), Barrett's Esophagus, coronary artery disease, several TIAs, white matter disease, plantar fasciitis, Achilles Tendinitis, and a host of other maladies. Two doctors have prescribed that I have physical therapy twice per week. I see 14 different doctors and take 13 medications (10 of which are taken multiple times daily) and I have three medications that I take on an as needed basis. Last year, the cost of my medication was in excess of five figures and it is estimated to climb further as I have had to graduate to higher dosages of my medication. Our income consists of my disability check and my wife's salary. Many times we have too much month left at the end of our money and have to do without some things so we can pay our bills, but we are currently falling farther and farther behind in our commitments. We have no assets save our house and a 2012 Honda on which we bought used and are having to make monthly payments.
