Hello, my name is Bill Ward. I was born and raised in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and have spent most of my life here. I’ve worked for a local company in their warehouse, and for many years I’ve found joy in singing with the Saint Patrick’s choir on Sundays. I consider myself blessed to have lived a simple, full life surrounded by community, faith, and gratitude for the gift of each day.

Asking for help is not easy. I’ve always tried to provide for myself and my family, but life has placed me on a path where I can no longer walk it alone. Thirteen years ago, I was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), a slow-growing but relentless cancer. Since then, I have undergone many treatments—from chemotherapy infusions to oral medications—each with its own challenges. Some worked for a time, others left me fighting severe side effects including a hospital stay, but through it all, I’ve held on to hope.

Four years ago, I believed that a new treatment might give me a breakthrough. Instead, it brought infections, complications, and more time in the hospital. When that treatment ended, my cancer returned aggressively, with lymph nodes swelling to painful sizes. At that point, I was told my disease was too advanced for CAR-T therapy, a promising new option.

Thankfully, another treatment gave me temporary relief, and today—by God’s grace—I am finally eligible to pursue CAR-T therapy. This is the most intensive treatment I have faced yet, requiring me to relocate to Oklahoma City for up to two months. I will need daily hospital visits, possible inpatient stays, and I won’t be able to work or drive during this time. Still, I hold onto the hope that I could be among the fortunate patients who find complete remission through this therapy.

This is where I humbly ask for your help. The journey ahead is daunting—physically, emotionally, and financially—but I believe that with God’s guidance and the support of compassionate people like you, I can face it with strength.

My faith in Christ sustains me. I trust that even when the road is uncertain, He is walking beside me. I pray that none of you or your loved ones will ever have to endure the weight of cancer, and I pray that God’s peace and love will be with each of you who takes the time to read my story.
