Help Bill Simon during his medical recovery

Donation protected
This is one of those tragic situations that you never think would happen to someone. Bill going about life as normal doing for others, taking care of his family, serving his job duties, and suddenly he is experiencing unusual health problems which quickly became serious just as if one day he was fine and the next day he wasn't himself. It has been tragic for him and for his amazing and dedicated wife Donna and his wonderful 20-year-old daughter Maddie. His health situation became known just after Thanksgiving of 2020 which he had to put work on pause and deal with a very complicated and life serious number of medical procedures and operations.  His normal income halted and because of the dramatic obligations that were added to his wife in the process of all of this has also lost her job and income.  Anyone that knows Bill Simon, knows that he is a giver, helper, and if he had only a dime, he would share it. He is extremely intelligent with computer programming and sadly this medical condition may forever affect his ability to ever be able to resume doing computer programming. There is so much uncertainty still ahead, but lots of optimism that he will be 100% himself again. Since the end of November 2020 here is a list of all the issues and medical procedures Bill has dealt with and there is still a long road ahead to recovery.

Dec 2nd - Bill went for an MRI because he was having headaches and issues with his speech. Results showed a mass on his brain

The Neurosurgeon sent him for a CT Scan. Results showed a mass on his left lung

Dec 15th - Had a lung biopsy. Results were benign but inconclusive

Jan 5th - Took Bill to ER

Jan 7th - Had another lung biopsy. Results showed infection. Started him on antibiotics.

Jan 11th - Bill had a Craniotomy to remove the biggest abscess from his brain. The surgery went well.

Found out Bill has Nocardia. A very serious bacterial infection.

Had a feeding tube inserted because since the Craniotomy he has been sleeping all the time. (It takes about 4-6 weeks to recover from brain surgery).

Jan 20th - Found out that he contracted C. Diff.

Jan 29th - Had another MRI of the brain, the infection is getting smaller.

Feb 9th - Had to have emergency surgery on his Large intestine because it was about to rupture from the C. Diff. The surgery went well.

Feb 17th - Transferred to a rehab/critical care/nursing home facility.

Bill's immediate medical team of professionals believes that it will take approximately a year to a year and a half to completely recover from his infection. He will need to be on the antibiotics for that long also. They do not know yet if he will have any long-term neurological issues.

As of now, Bill still can’t walk, sit up, or feed himself.  Rehab will be working with him to try and get all his motor skills back. He can talk and he is starting to remember things, but he is still unable to use a phone or computer.

Bill's wife is still unsure when Bill will be able to return home. Beyond any financial contribution, prayers for his full recovery are needed.
