I’m writing this on behalf of my friend, Bill Wiley.
May you never be placed in a situation like this.
Bill is a 65-year-old man living on Social Security. He’s a kind, humble soul who has spent his life working hard and just trying to get by. On April 2nd, federal marshals arrested him on a sealed federal indictment — the details of which he still has not seen and are still unknown to him. All he knows is that he is being held without bond, and the charge dates back over a year.
While Bill sits in federal custody — confused, afraid, and without answers — his life on the outside is unraveling:
• His truck, which is his only source of additional income outside of his Social Security check, was impounded. The little money he had saved was used to get it released, leaving him with nothing left to cover ongoing costs. It is now facing repossession by the bank as he has been unable to make his monthly payments.
• His 460-square-foot mobile home, which he owns outright, is at risk of eviction because the lot rent has gone unpaid since his arrest.
Bill’s greatest fear isn’t just the legal case — it’s walking out of jail one day with nothing left:
No home, no truck, no clothes, no tools — nothing to restart his life with.
He currently has a public defender, but dreams of being able to afford private legal representation to fight for his name and future. Right now, though, his most urgent hope is simply to keep his home and belongings intact — the last pieces of the life he worked so hard to build.
He has no family nearby, no savings left, and I am doing all I can to help him.
We’re asking for help — any help — to keep Bill’s life from disappearing while this unfolds.
Funds raised will go directly toward:
• Lot rent to prevent eviction from his home
• Truck payments to stop repossession
• Basic living costs and support for his return
• Legal support, if funds allow, to help him fight his case
Even $5 would make a difference if you can spare it. Your kindness could be the reason Bill still has a life to return to.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with others. Every gesture of support means more than you know.
