My father, Bill Jackson, is a retired disabled veteran who has dedicated his life to serving others—both through his work with the VA and by supporting countless couples and veterans in our community. Just a couple of days ago, disaster struck when his raw sewage line backed up into his house. Because Bill is paralyzed and uses a wheelchair, it was impossible for him to clean up the mess himself. After hiring help to clean, we learned that nearly everything in the basement that came into contact with the sewage had to be thrown away. This included his brand new washer and dryer, water heater, deep freezer, humidifiers, and countless personal items. The smell alone has made his home environment dangerous, and it needs to be corrected as soon as possible for his health and safety.
Bill has always been a God-fearing Christian who gives back to others, never asking for help himself. He’s been involved in counseling, organizing events like the wheelchair Olympics, and supporting fellow veterans in any way he can. Now, he’s facing a situation that he simply cannot overcome alone. The cost to replace the damaged appliances, clean and sanitize the home, and restore the basement—including new drywall, paneling, insulation, and flooring—is overwhelming. We never reach out for help, but this time, we truly need it to make sure Bill’s living environment is safe and sanitary again.
If you are able to help, your support would mean the world to Bill and our family. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward restoring his home and replacing what was lost. If you cannot help, we completely understand and appreciate your prayers and well wishes. God bless you and your families for your kindness and support.
