‘Help Bill Recover from Throat Cancer’
William Miller (Bill) is a single dad raising a special needs, adolescent son. He has a full life riding motorcycles with friends, fixing hot rods, reading, writing, and drawing. Bill is the kindest man with the greatest sense of humor who is always available to support others. We are his friends who have been touched by his generous spirit.
Bill is a mental health specialist working with traumatized adolescents and their families. The use of his voice is required for his livelihood. It could take Bill up to 1 year to learn how to speak again.
Bill was diagnosed with throat cancer in June 2018. Since then, Bill has had over 10 surgeries, and at one point showed no further signs of cancer.
The cancer returned in March 2024.
He has had a tracheostomy already, and will be having a full laryngectomy 7/5/24. This means his voice box will be removed. He will have to learn how to speak again.
We are raising money to help pay for medical expenses such as ongoing trips from upstate New York to NYC for rehabilitation. Funds raised will also cover Bill’s unpaid leave from work to care for himself and his son.
Every donation is so deeply appreciated!
