Hello my name is William Dionne and I am starting this GOFundME on behalf of my father and family. For those that dont know my father Bill Dionne, he is an extraordinary man. He is the eldest son with 5 sibling's of a reputable doctor and nurse from the state of Maine being the first in the family to go to the University of Colorado at Boulder where he met my mother Diana. They started a family and relocated back to Maine where my sister and I grew up. While there my father became the business manager for the Bridgton, Maine School District and then later at the Wells and Ogunquit Community School District. My father oversaw numerous community projects including the development and funding of the York County Community Technical College. My father has helped numerous people over the years in countless ways and has always had a big heart.

Since father's day it had become more noticeable that my Dad had started to have short term memory loss and this is out of character for him as he is as sharp witted as they come. This was followed by late night disorientation being unaware of his surroundings. After several doctors appointments, ct scans, and MRIS we finally had an answer. On Aug 8th, 2023, My father Bill Dionne JR was diagnosed with the most aggressive form of brain cancer known as Glioblastoma aka Glioblastoma Multiforme. Needless to say this diagnosis is not optimal and the road ahead for my father is going to be very tough and rough. As of Aug 22nd my father's tumor was treated with MRI guided Laser ablation by a top neurosurgeon in the State of Colorado at Skyridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado.

We have kept positive and had the highest of hopes that the laser surgery would in fact benefit my father as they were able to treat 98 % of the tumor. He will be following up with targeted radiation and chemotherapy. Unfortunately my father has not fared as well in acute rehab and had to again be hospitalized due to side effects from the medication and steroids he has been taking. He is having trouble walking and is requiring more supervision and care than to be expected. He needs inpatient long term care This means the only way to afford such care is out of pocket and it costs $300-500 per day. This exorbitant cost is just simply unaffordable. In this case my father will be going home but he will still need help daily. For anybody that knows my father he is an extremely proud man and the last thing he wants is to burden his family to which we would never consider him a burden. That being said, insurance only covers so much as the bills and added costs are starting to stack up.

We are more than happy to accept your prayers and well wishes and but any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated during this time. My father is a fighter and he has never been about giving up. We will do our best to help him during this time.
