Help Bill Daddono Get a Life-Saving Liver Transplant

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Samantha, a 24-year-old daughter reaching out for my dad, Bill Daddono.

My dad, a 68-year-old retired union electrician, has been married to my mom, Kimberly, for 25 years and is a proud father to me and my 21-year-old twin brothers, Anthony and Dominic. Right now, our family is facing a battle we never expected, and we need your help to give my dad a fighting chance.

In April 2024, what started as a routine lung screening for my dad, a former smoker, turned our world upside down. While his lungs were clear, a CT scan revealed a large mass on his liver. A biopsy confirmed hepatocellular carcinoma—liver cancer. This aggressive cancer has been relentless. In May 2024, Dad underwent a liver resection to remove the tumor, followed by chemotherapy at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. But in October 2024, an MRI showed another tumor in a different part of his liver. Doctors performed a Y90 procedure, inserting radiation pellets to kill the tumor, and it worked. Yet, in March 2025, another tumor appeared, requiring a second Y90 treatment.

Now, the doctors at Northwestern have told us that Dad’s best hope for survival is a liver transplant. He was placed on the transplant list at Northwestern in March 2025, and they’ve urged him to get evaluated at other top centers, like the University of Wisconsin in Madison and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, to increase his chances of getting a liver.Your donations will help cover:
• Travel expenses to Madison, WI, and Rochester, MN, for transplant evaluations, including gas, lodging, and meals.
• Medical co-pays and costs not covered by insurance, like medications and follow-up appointments.
• Living expenses for our family, as Dad had to retire unexpectedly after 35 years as a union electrician with Local 134, and Mom is working two jobs to keep us afloat.
• Post-transplant care, including a full-time caregiver for Dad during his months-long recovery.
This support will give Dad the chance to focus on fighting cancer and preparing for a transplant without the crushing financial stress. It will also help us stay in our family home of 25 years, as social workers have advised against major changes in case Dad gets “the call” for a transplant.

We’re humbly asking for your help to ease the financial burden of Dad’s cancer journey and give him the best shot at a transplant. Any amount you can give will make a huge difference. If you can’t donate, please share this campaign with your friends, family, or on social media like X—it could reach someone who can help. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading Dad’s story and for any support you can offer.
