Help Bill Cole

Bill Cole is my father and I am sad to tell his community that he was given a very sudden stage four cancer diagnosis, completely out of the blue,  about 30 days ago. He has liver cancer that has also spread to a kidney, plus an aggressive-seeming bile duct cancer.

We do not know how much longer has to live, but in the time has he left, he is desperate to get out of the facility he is in, where he cannot have any visitors at all, due to understandable Covid safety rules. To be honest with you, this situation could mean that he may spend his final days alone, which breaks our hearts.

He said to please tell everyone that he’s eager to spend his last weeks with you, his loved ones and friends. We have rented him a first-floor apartment where he can peacefully spend this time, if we can afford the caretakers it would take to house him here.

Bill Cole has done so much charity work in his lifetime, mainly with Saint Vincent DuPaul, can you please help him now in his hour of need?

We are trying to help finance his most earnest and clearly expressed wish, to find a way for him to come “home,” if we can get him here. We will need caretakers, and they’re understandably expensive.

To get discharged from the healthcare facility he is in now (where he cannot have visitors, nor can he have clergy visit, and has lately been unable to sleep because it is so loud), he unfortunately needs 24/7 supervision and care to be able to come to this new apartment. Caretakerscost about $30/hour, as he is bedridden and needs professional physical assistance. It adds up fast, to $700 or more per 24 hours.

Our family is researching all financial options and creative solutions to help him reach his dream of how he’d love to live out this very precious time he has left. It would mean the world to Bill, and to us his children, if you can help him get out of the loud rehab, where he cannot see anyone, not even his children, during this precious short time. He said, “I would love a quiet warm place where I can feel peace.”

Can you please help and share this?

Thank you so much,
Kristina Cole, Bill Cole’s daughter
