Help Bill and Lil with Cancer Treatment Costs

Dear friends and family,

We come to you on behalf of our parents, Bill and Lil Stroup, parents of three children, grandparents of ten grandchildren, and retired foreign missionaries now serving their local community in Birmingham AL.

Five years ago Lil was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought hard, while continuing to visit and care for her children and grandchildren in Alabama, Oregon, and Japan. And by God’s grace, she was even declared cancer free August 2020.

The breast cancer returned in 2021 and was fairly stable for two years.

In September of 2023 we found out the surprising news that her cancer was stage 4 and had spread to her lymphs and liver. More treatments began. After 9 months her original breast cancer was completely gone. Praise be to God! From the waist up her body responded well to the treatments. However, the liver continued to worsen.

A few days ago, in September of 2024, her Oncologist shared devastating news regarding her cancer. Her cancer had spread in five weeks from her liver to her abdomen. It is called peritoneal carcinomatosis, a rare and aggressive cancer that develops in the tissue lining of the abdomen. Without more intense treatment, the standard life expectancy for her diagnosis would be 6 months.

Bill and Lil are currently looking into treatment options for her cancer. She starts chemo 10/10/24. Many of these treatment options include travel costs, costs for natural therapies to strengthen her immune system, and the standard cost for medical care.

Many of you have already prayed and supported our parents during this time and we are so grateful! Many of you have asked how you can continue to pray and support our parents during this time. This is a tremendous blessing!!

We have started this GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate the financial burden to treat Peritoneal Carcinomatosis and Liver Cancer for Bill and Lil Stroup and support them financially over the next 6 months.
