Dearest family, beloved friends, and those who may just be passing through:
Welcome to our GoFundMe page! Before we go any further, I'd like to let everyone know how difficult the decision to do this has been. We've toiled over this for weeks and only after great input from many of you, we decided we were comfortable moving forward. Thank you for listening and understanding our need.
Over the last 2 and a half years, we have learned much about our bodies and how challenging they can be. For me, this year has seen a diagnosis of extremely low hemoglobin (anemia), 2 iron infusions, vein ablation, an ulcer, and crippling arthritis, as well as concerns over memory loss and boughs of serious anxiety. For Bill, the challenge has been even greater. HIs diagnosis of Stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma resulted in the removal of a large facial mass and left eye; despite that, he remains diligent and positive. 9 other procedures to support and repair the wound area, including a lengthy stay at a wound rehab facility, ongoing weekly visits to wound care at the hospital, and weekly visits with a home healthcare nurse, have also become a regular part of his life. He is also undergoing monthly immunotherapy to combat the cancer.
As one can imagine, the bills for all of this are massive. Insurance has a paid a huge chunk, and we have been able to get some of it forgiven. We have paid what we can, but we still have a significant amount in collections. If you are able to help us with this, we would be eternally grateful.
To our children, Kelly and Bill, thank you for being there when it all seems to be too much. We know how difficult it can be to watch your parents struggle through illness. We love you. Also, an extra special thanks to Bills sister Joanne for taking him to the many appointments he continues to have. You're a god send.
Thank you in advance and and keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Love to all!
