Big Red is a young male orange tabby cat. He was a feral stray cat that has been trapped and neutered. He has been tamed and has become a sweet, friendly, and affectionate kitty ready for a new permanent home. He loves people, dogs, other cats, and children.
However, Big Red has a medical condition that limits his ability to find a home. Big Red has a tumor growing inside both of his ear canals. They are growing larger by the day. They are chronically infected, draining pus, and have a foul odor. It is so sad and pitiful. He scratches at his ears, causing big, nasty sores and abscesses on his head and neck. He wants to be held and petted, and loves to snuggle up with people, but his gross, smelly, draining ears keep people from wanting to give him love. His foster home wants to keep him forever, but the cost of the treatment for the tumors is prohibitive. He is in need of surgical laser ablation of the tumors. It is estimated to cost $3000. His foster home cannot afford to pay for this surgery. They love Big Red, but have 5 children and just cannot afford the surgery. The alternative would be euthanasia. I hate to see such a sweet young cat euthanized for a curable condition. Please donate if you can help Big Red live his best life.
