Hi, my name is Ron. I'm a long time friend and part of George Florides extended 'Baseball family' - known to those who really know him as 'Big G'. Big G is well known for his love of baseball and all the kids he coached/taught over the last 15+ years. Big G and I also coached baseball together for many years, won lots of championships, but the part I remember most was the amazing 'baseball family' we forged with all our great players and parents over the years. Big G dedicated many years of his time to youth baseball and as a result helped so many youth ballplayers achieve college scholarships and MLB contracts.

Big G was very recently diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and is currently fighting hard to beat it. Big G is currently undergoing 6 months of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital and needs all of our support to get through it. Now is the time for us to step up and help Big G and his family beat this cancer. If you're able to donate anything to assist with his medical bills and recovery that would be great - if not a phone call to cheer him up or a prayer works too.
