Hello, this is Christopher Glotfelty organizing this fundraiser in hopes of helping my Father, his business and my family through this challenging time.

"Big Ed" and "Tiki Ed" as he's been known by all of his friends, is a larger-than-life person who is always on the go. He loves being an artist, classic cars, Tiki community sub-culture. An American patriot, he was a California government worker for the Department of Water and Power for over 40 years in Anaheim, where he grew up.

For the past five years, my Father has been battling issues with a wound on his foot that has been having trouble healing due to his status as a diabetic.

In January, Big Ed was diagnosed with cancer in his liver and has been fighting this since. However, for four months, insurance companies and doctors did not address the issue as they went back and forth about handling the situation as he has an underlying condition in his feet.

After what was to be his last Tiki event before starting treatment, Big Ed was rushed to the hospital for an infection in his feet. Unfortunately, while in the hospital, Big Ed suffered from complications involving his cancerous tumor and was rushed to the ICU for immediate surgery.

Since his surgery, he has been stable but in critical condition needing extensive support to continue, and has been heavily sedated in the ICU for nearly two weeks.

UPDATE: Big Ed was brought off Sedation on 06/15/2022 and is awake and partially coherent as of 06/17/2022. He is still in severe pain and receiving significant medical support for his feet, liver, oxygen and kidneys.
