In mid-May, our dear friend “Biff” traveled to Colombia for a stem cell treatment to help his vision, hopeful and excited about improving his vision. But shortly after returning home, things took a serious turn.

Biff began experiencing swelling, discoloration, and pain in his left foot. He went straight to his doctor, who immediately sent him by ambulance to the ER. The diagnosis was devastating: a severe blood infection that had caused extensive damage to one of his heart valves.

The doctors say recovery’s gonna be tough—no sugarcoating it.

What Recovery Looks Like for Biff:

On May 26, 2025, Biff underwent emergency open-heart surgery, which included both a valve replacement and a bypass. While the surgery was a success, his cardiologist warned that Biff is facing a long, painful, and demanding recovery.

While Biff focuses on healing, the financial pressures are mounting—medical bills, living expenses, and the costs of care are piling up quickly.
