Service Dog for Bianca

Hello everyone, it's Bianca Peregrino. Eight years ago, at age 12, I was diagnosed with a chronic illness called Dysautonomia. Specifically, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (P.O.T.S.), a condition that affects my autonomic and sympathetic nervous systems and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (E.D.S.), a condition that affects the connective tissue in my body.

Since being diagnosed, I have worked to become more stable and independent in my daily life. Thankfully my family, dedicated medical specialists and my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu family have taught me to “Never Quit.” However, I still have my limitations.

Recently, I have been approved to own and attend specialized training with my own cardiac alert and mobility assistance Service Dog. This is a blessing as I transfer to the University of Texas here in Austin, Texas, to become more self-reliant and independent. I will dedicate the time with certified trainers to work with my service dog.

The donations you offer will help our family and me offset the expense of veterinary costs, Certified Training, licensing, and care of my newest companion on her way to becoming a Cardiac Alert service dog.

E.D.S. - Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is a condition that affects the connective tissue in my body. This has caused me to have dislocated and partially dislocated multiple joints, to have chronic pain, and to have double vision requiring prism glasses.
