We are Bianca Janine Pettis and Jacob Aaron Roske, also known as Beatrix*Jar.
We’re a Minneapolis-based art duo creating sound, art, video, comics, workshops, soft sculptures…since 2003!
- You may have seen us at the Walker Art Center making sound art.
- You may have played at one of our Audio Playgrounds around Minneapolis
- Or maybe you came to a Circuit Bending Workshop one afternoon at an Art Museum.
- You may have even danced to one of our DJ Sets.
- Or....you may have just met us.
However you arrived, welcome to the myth, the magic, the mayhem.

Why We’re Fundraising
We started this fundraiser in Winter 2023 from a place of deep crisis.
Today, we are asking for your help and support to complete a healing arc and launch a new creative era.
- Jacob lives with hydrocephalus, seizures, and the aftereffects of multiple brain surgeries.
- Bianca recently underwent emergency parathyroid surgery and a second life-saving operation to remove a hematoma compressing her throat. Recovery is ongoing.
Despite it all, we are still here. Still creating. Still full of wonder.
But we need help to keep going.
