Help Bhavana Yoga Recover from Hurricane Milton

My name is Wendy. I am a teacher at Bhavana Yoga Studio in Sarasota, Florida. You may have heard of Hurricane Milton? Well, Milton was not so kind to our yoga home. Leaks in our exterior wall let in his fury and seriously damaged the bamboo flooring. We are also currently without full power which means the A/C isn't working and in Florida that's a problem! We are unable to hold classes at this time and are not sure when we will be able to again. When we can, with the floor as it is, we will have limited capacity. Yoga studios are run on a break even situation in the best of times. These are not the best of times for sure! Not only is this causing a very precarious financial situation, but it also leaves a yoga community without a place to be together, to practice yoga, meditation, and self-care, something those in this storm ravaged community need more than ever before. This space is very special to all of its members, teachers, and its owner. The owner of this studio is working around the clock to try to "keep the lights on." The studio is not a hobby or an extra side job for her, it is her livelihood; it's how she feeds and clothes her children. She does not like asking for help, and neither do I. We are strong women determined to do for ourselves! But, part of being strong right now, is realizing it's time to ask for help. It takes a village to raise children. And it also takes a village to lift the community up when it is beaten down. It is my hope that if you are reading this, you can be one of the hands who helps lift us up. Any funds donated to our studio will be used to replace our flooring, other items damaged by the water intrusion, and, to pay teachers and rent until the business is back on its feet.
