Help Bexey Heal from Painful Bladder Stones

Hi everyone, and thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

My sweet 7-year-old cat, Bexey, has recently been diagnosed with chronic, painful bladder stones that have likely been building up for a few months without my knowledge. As a Burmese cat, she’s part of a breed prone to urinary issues that often resolve on their own but sadly, this time, they didn’t.

We have gone through so many stages of life together, including moving across the country, and she is one of the biggest constants in my life. After moving apartments, I started noticing that she was hiding, straining to pee, marking with a strong scent in random areas, and clearly uncomfortable. I took her to the emergency vet, where we found out she was suffering from bladder stones through an ultrasound and X-ray and a potential infection that she has yet to be able to give a sample for. Since then, I've been doing everything I can to help her heal with the prescription food, meds, and stay comfortable until we are able to afford the next two visits' costly procedures.

Why I’m Asking for Help

This past month and a half has been incredibly difficult. I recently moved and had a major change in work hours, and a decrease in educator income due to the school year ending, which forced me to dip into my rent and bill money, and savings just to cover Bexey’s emergency vet visit and initial care, even with financial help from a companion-loving family member. I’ve also had to scale back on my creative work from home since her recovery enclosure takes up so much room space.

In addition to the medical costs, I’ve had to clean and replace a number of things that were damaged while she was unwell—things she couldn't help ruining in her pain and confusion.
