Hi there! I'm Vic, and I'm hosting this GoFundMe for my partner Bex! They're so incredible and such a source of joy in my life, and I want to help them as best I can with their upcoming top surgery. Here are some words from Bex:

Hey,

It’s Bex. I need your help.

I’ve been pursuing gender-affirming top surgery. Give a hearty farewell and say “ta ta!” because I’m so excited and to share with you that I’ll be walking out of the hospital with a flat chest on December 8th of THIS YEAR!! (Woah so in 1 month!!! Which is several months earlier than I expected!!!) I’m so excited, and honestly amazed. But I am worried and need help. My finances aren’t in a place right now where I’m able to afford being out of work for the recovery period.

What’s going on? Why are you here crowdfunding?

To say 2022 has been tough would be downplaying it. I started the year with COVID-19, and the isolation that came along with it sent me into one of the most severe depressive episodes of my life. I sought help and lived on my savings a good part of this past year in order to participate in intensive mental health programs. I’m so proud to be in a good place mentally, and know that my continued mental health recovery is inextricably linked to my identity as a transgender person. I know that getting this surgery is a big piece of embracing myself fully moving forward. But, because I’ve spent the past year taking the time to get to a good mental place, I’m at the end of my savings. I’m living month-to-month and I’m worried about taking time off after surgery. That’s why I’m here crowdfunding, to help my rent, food, and bills for December and part of January.

I will provide you so many updates and make it worth your time, I promise. I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to consider me and my journey. I’ll be sending regular updates to y’all including pictures, videos, and writing from me.
