My name is Laurie and Bex means the WORLD to me. In the last year, Rebecca (Bex) has had some particularly tough times, both emotionally and financially. I'm setting up this Go Gund Me to try and alleviate some of that.
Many of you know Rebecca (aka 'Bex') from their participation in various dog sports - Barn Hunt, Weight Pull, Nose/Scent Work, NASDA. They are also a gifted photographer, selling their photos on their "Photos by the Bucket" page: https://photosbythebucket.smugmug.com
Several years ago, I entrusted them with a shared custody relationship with my beloved Buzz. It didn't take long before I accepted what I've always heard, that sometimes dogs pick their person. Buzzy picked his person. He knew that Bex needed him as much as he needed them. They make each other whole. I have seen the bond between the 2 of them and I wouldn't have it any other way. Here's her latest update from Dec 27 2019: "Laurie Cowhig asked me if I wanted to keep Buzz forever or if I wanted to continue our arrangement of trading him back and forth for conditioning and competitions. I thought long and hard for 0.2sec. And he's been here ever since."
And then this follow-up from Bex on 12/17/21: "Not a day goes by that I'm not thankful for all the trust Laurie had in me for keeping her best boy safe and for letting him stay for good. I always joke that I stole him, but really he stole my heart from the moment I met him. Thank you for trusting me with this life-saving little dog."

On Jan 19, 2022, They lost their OD (Original Dog), Bucket Brigade "Bucky". Bucky was the dog who introduced them to the world of dog sports through weight-pull and barn hunt, taught them how to read a challenging dog, and most importantly, led them into my life. They're still facing outstanding bills from that life-saving effort.
*
Buzz, - my Boston Terrier, that they accepted as their own - partial cruciate tear.
*
Thorin - 1-yo Lowchin, grade 2 LP with potential cruciate tear. They have a rehab plan in place to help Thorin, but given his activity level, they will likely pursue surgery (or other treatments like prolotherapy for one or both of them) in the future.
Buzz and Thorin are both insured but there's no guarantee of approval and there is the wait for reimbursement regardless. Bex (through Team Tiny) has been trying to manage this on their own - posting personal items for sale on Facebook and holding photo-ops at various events, but I think we can do more. Please help if you can to get them over this hump.
