Hi -

We are trying to raise some money to help one of the most amazing and caring friends we know. Our friend and former colleague, Bev, is trying to help her family through a very difficult time in New Orleans.

She is displaced from home due to Hurricane Ida, and is taking care of some family members. She's currently trying to find wheelchair friendly lodgings to keep her elderly Grandma, nephew and cousin safe from the impacts of the flood. Any available rooms are expensive due to the exodus from the New Orleans area. Their houses have all sustained damage - the roofs are damaged and there is water inside. They may not be able to return home for days/weeks. Her dad and sister are still stuck in New Orleans, unable to afford to leave.

Please give anything you can to help a good friend take care of her family and loved ones. We appreciate any and all donations. This is an urgent and developing situation, so the sooner the response - the better. Thank you all.

We'd like to help raise at least $2k to help deal with this emergency in the short term, but obviously additional funds will be needed as her family assesses the damage and tries to recover.

ABOUT US: Jessica and I lived next door to Bev for two years while she was living in Los Angeles. Jessica was one of Bev's coworkers at an interior design studio in LA. We both still live in LA, but Bev relocated to her home in New Orleans about a year ago.

Money raised by this fundraiser will go to:

1.) Help Bev cover the cost of travel/lodging for her and her displaced family members.

2.) Help Bev's dad and sister leave New Orleans to join them in a safe location

3.) Cover initial emergency costs from the damage done by Hurricane Ida to their homes and property.

Bev will be responsible for withdrawing the funds to aid her family as needed.
