On March 27th, my dear friend Beverly Smith Wiker faced the unimaginable—her beloved 33-year-old son passed away suddenly. He was not only her child but also her full-time responsibility and purpose, as she had been his full-time caregiver for years.

His passing has left her heartbroken and reeling. On top of the deep emotional pain, she is now facing an uncertain future with no income, no job, and no insurance. After dedicating her life to her son's care, she must now navigate grief while trying to rebuild her life and re-enter the workforce—an overwhelming task for anyone, let alone a grieving mother.
