She’s a mother, a sister, an aunt, a grandmother, and a friend but above all, Beverley (Bev) is the heartbeat of the family.
She is the one whose house somehow becomes the gathering place for every occasion. The one who never asks if you are hungry but just hands you a plate. The one who knows how to make you feel at home even if you didn’t plan to stay long. Bev's home is where stories start, laughter echoes, and comfort lives. If you’ve ever passed through her door, you’ve felt her warmth and generosity without her ever needing to say a word.
She has walked through challenges before, and every time, her faith, strength, and that signature Beverley warmth have shone through.
But this time, her health took a turn no one saw coming.
A Rare Diagnosis
Not long after recovering from COVID-19, Beverley began experiencing persistent headaches, pressure at the base of her skull, and strange neurological episodes; numbness, facial tightness, and difficulty speaking. As symptoms intensified, so did the concern. After multiple tests and specialist visits in Nassau, she was referred to a neurologist in the U.S., and now to a neurosurgeon in Colombia.
She has been diagnosed with a cholesterol-based cyst located at the base of her skull, a rare and delicate condition pressing on critical nerves. It has now reached the point where it’s impacting her daily functioning.
Doctors have advised a non-invasive but complex neurosurgical procedure. The procedure must be scheduled within the next 30 days to prevent worsening symptoms. Unfortunately, the full cost of surgery, pre-op care, ICU monitoring, travel, and accommodations must be paid upfront.
Our Goal: $80,000
We are coming together as Beverley’s Village of Hope to raise $80,000 to ensure she gets the care she urgently needs.
These funds will directly support:
Specialized neurosurgery
Pre- and post-operative care
ICU (if needed)
Travel and lodging for Bev
Even now, Bev continues to bring light and warmth to those around her. It’s time we return that same love.
How You Can Help
Your support whether $25, $100, or whatever feels right will go directly toward Beverley’s healing and recovery. If you’re unable to give right now, please consider sharing her story. Every act of kindness brings her one step closer to the care she needs.
Thank you for standing with Beverley. Thank you for being part of her village.
