Hello, my name is Betty, and I worked for the same company for 23 years and was unexpectedly let go earlier this month.

In January of this year, I broke my leg and had to have surgery. From February to June, I was on disability, and I returned to work the first week of June. After this, I adapted to a hybrid schedule, going into the office 2 days a week and working 3 days a week from home. I was working paycheck to paycheck to support my family.

The layoff was a bit devastating, and the final paycheck left me in a tough financial situation while looking for another job, rehabilitating from my injury, and learning to walk.
