On Tuesday, July 15, this sweet little pup was picked up off a construction site in Albuquerque, NM, and taken to a local clinic.

Upon exam, it seems that she had been hit by a car and her femur as well as her pelvis are broken. She is also severely underweight and malnourished.

She did not have a microchip, and the search for owners has sadly been fruitless.

Betty Louise is a just under one year old shepherd mix. She is somehow walking on these limbs despite what we imagine to be horrible pain.

She just cuddles and licks everyone.

We took her to a specialist, and the cost is between $5k and $10k. We are researching other options and have some savings set aside.

Her quality of life is believed to be extremely good after the surgery. Without it, the pain will start becoming unbearable.
