On January 30th, 2021 Betty received a phone call with some disheartening news. Over the course of the past few months she had been suffering from loss of appetite, fatigue, inability to keep food down, and a 20 pound weight loss unsure of her medical diagnosis. After several visits and endless appointments, testing, and procedures with gastroenterologists she was finally diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
We decided to forgo knowing about what stage she's in as we want her to focus on healing and recover. She is 73 years old and recovery is going to be long and difficult. She will be beginning chemotherapy treatments this week in hopes to shrink the tumor. Unfortunately, due to its size and location the doctors are unable to remove the tumor.
We hope to raise funds to offset the cost of medical bills, prescriptions, and activities of daily living as she is a widow and lives alone. Even after her chemo treatments are done she will still need around the clock care to assist with activities of daily living.
For those that know Betty, they know that she is a shining star and always lights up a room. She's never shy about voicing her opinions, always keeps it real. Please share your fondest memory with Betty below for us to share with her to brighten her day.
We will be providing updates on her status throughout her treatment. Please continue to send your prayers and motivational thoughts to her and our family. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated to Betty during this difficult time.
