Betty, my English bulldog, became very sick on January 26. After an emergency pet visit and several tests, the vet ruled out pancreatitis, but initial x-rays showed a possible object in her small intestine. Follow-up x-rays today revealed that the object hasn’t moved and may be stuck, which is very concerning. Betty is such a big part of my life, and seeing her in pain is heartbreaking.
The initial emergency visits and testing have already created a significant financial burden. I’ve recently started a new job, and my unemployment has been in adjudication for over 7 weeks, so I haven’t received any payment. Betty is now on prescription food and is at home resting, but she needs surgery to remove the object as soon as possible. The cost of surgery and care is more than I can manage alone right now, and I am doing everything I can for her, but the financial strain is overwhelming.
Betty has the sweetest personality—I know all pet owners feel that way, but if it wasn’t for her, I don’t think I would have survived the last 4 years. She just turned 5 and still has a long life ahead of her. Everyone loves Betty Boo, and this is my worst nightmare. Any help or support would mean everything to us right now. Thank you for reading our story and for considering helping Betty get the care she needs.
