Help Betty & Alvin Save Their Home of 39 Years

Dear friends, neighbors, and kind-hearted supporters,

My name is Betty Atkins, and my husband Alvin Atkins and I have lived in our home since 1987. For 39 years, we have been dedicated community members—helping our neighbors with handyman work, snow removal, lawn care, and most importantly, providing meals to local neighborhood kids every Sunday. Our home has been more than just a place to live; it has been a source of support, love, and giving.

Last year, our world changed when Alvin suffered a stroke, leaving him unable to work. As he focused on recovery, we fell on hard times and, despite our best efforts, ultimately lost our home to the city. Losing the place we’ve built our lives in is devastating, but we are holding onto hope.

We now have an opportunity to buy back our home, but we need help. We are humbly asking for any assistance—big or small—to raise the funds needed to reclaim the place that means everything to us. Every donation, share, and prayer brings us one step closer to restoring the home we love and continuing to serve our community.
