Our hearts are heavy as we share that, at only 13, Bettie has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. What began as headaches and vomiting, which led to a relatively routine MRI, resulted in an ambulance ride all the way to Memphis for treatment.

On October 17th, Bettie underwent neurosurgery at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital to remove a portion of the tumor and take a biopsy. Results are pending. The road ahead could include additional surgery, radiation, and/or other treatments.

Bettie was granted a brief reprieve at home while waiting on the results of her biopsy, but there will be endless trips back and forth to Memphis in the coming weeks and months, and the financial toll is already starting. We all know the bills never stop, and no parent should have to suffer through this nightmare and spend their days worrying about how they are going to keep the bills paid.
