When a pig is abandoned, injured, or in danger, we need to be able to say, “We’re on our way.”

Right now, we can’t.

Better Piggies Rescue’s rescue vehicle was recently totaled in an accident. Losing it has left our sanctuary without the safe, dependable transportation we need to respond to rescue calls and bring pigs to safety. This was not simply a vehicle we used to get from one place to another. It was an essential part of every rescue. It carried large kennels, emergency supplies, volunteers, and frightened pigs who needed a safe ride to their new beginning.

We are raising funds to purchase a reliable van or large SUV with enough room to safely secure multiple large kennels. Working air conditioning is an absolute requirement. Arizona temperatures can be dangerous for pigs, especially those who are already frightened, injured, dehydrated, or medically fragile.

The vehicle will be used to:

Respond to urgent rescue situations

Safely transport multiple pigs in large kennels

Bring rescued pigs to the sanctuary

Transport pigs for veterinary care when needed

Carry rescue equipment and emergency supplies

Without an appropriate vehicle, our ability to perform rescues has come to a heartbreaking standstill. The next call could involve a pig wandering near traffic, abandoned in the desert, injured, or left behind with nowhere safe to go. We never want the reason we cannot help to be that we have no way to reach them.

Every donation will help put Better Piggies Rescue back on the road. Funds will support the purchase of the vehicle and the safety equipment needed to prepare it for pig rescue, including kennels, secure tie-downs, inspections, registration, and essential rescue supplies.
