Since May of 2025, I have faced a series of serious health challenges that have completely changed my daily life. It began when I had to be life flighted to Fresno for emergency surgery, and soon after, I was diagnosed with kidney stones. I needed a nephrostomy bag for my right kidney, which brought incredible pain and made it nearly impossible to move around. The bag had to be changed out five times before I could have surgery to remove the stones, but unfortunately, not all of them could be removed. I still have a 1.2cm stone left and am now preparing for another surgery to hopefully finish this process.

On top of all this, I have cerebral palsy, which makes recovery and mobility even more difficult. Right now, I am unable to stand up or get out of bed by myself, and I rely heavily on my family just to help me start each day. I am doing weekly physical therapy, but it’s a long road ahead. To regain my independence and improve my quality of life, I need several medical devices and home modifications, including handrails, a hospital-style bed, and changes to our bathroom and possibly kitchen. Unfortunately, our insurance will not cover any of these essential items.
