Our mother, Betsy, recently found out that she has a reoccurrence of cancer and will need to have a major surgery at the end of July. Her recovery is projected to take several months, during which time she will be unable to work her job as a public servant, which she has doing faithfully for the last 25 years.

She will be able to receive a very limited amount of short-term disability benefits, but that will not be enough to cover the majority of her monthly bills and living expenses. In addition to needing help with monthly costs like utilities, food, and housing, she will also have high medical bills to pay for the surgery itself as well as for diagnostic testing and post-surgical care.

Any amount that you can give would be so greatly appreciated and will allow our mother to heal from this surgery without the added stress of trying to figure out how to pay all of her medical bills on top of other living expenses.
