My sister, Betsy Martinez, and her wife Cynthia, are grieving the loss of their sweet dog, Madonna, who was Betsy’s loyal companion for nearly 15 years and passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning 9/14/24.
Many of you who have known Betsy & Cynthia for a long time or who have visited their cafe, came to know and love Madonna, who was jokingly and lovingly referred to as the cafe manager. So you know what a huge part of their lives Madonna was.
Leading up to Madonna's passing, the pet hospital ER visits and cremation have cost Betsy and Cynthia thousands of dollars, and due to their grief, they had to close their cafe on Saturday, resulting in more lost wages.
This has been a rough year on them, emotionally and financially. They had a break in at their cafe, air conditioning that needs to be repaired, and pending expensive health inspections coming up for their cafe.
If you know Betsy and Cynthia then you know just how generous they are.. They are the first to help out their friends, families, and community. and always pay it forward. But right now, they are the ones who need our help.
They have been too humble to ask for any help,
Although their cafe is their dream, and they are fighting to keep that dream alive, small businesses struggle in the first 2 years of being open before they start to see any profit. They have gone into debt to open their cafe, keep it open, and now all of these unexpected hardships have occurred.
Please help them get their heads above water. It would mean the world to them. In addition to donating, you can also help by supporting their business by being a loyal/frequent customer, and if you are unable to donate, sharing this would help tremendously and be greatly appreciated.
