Help Bethany Overcome Sickle Cell Disease
Donation protected

Hello.
My name is Christie Bature.
One of my daughters, Bethany Osamede (27 years old), is medically challenged and has been for all of her life. She has sickle cell disease, which has practically interfered with every aspect of her life. She is a fighter, though, because in spite of the disease, she has been able to obtain both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Suffolk University, Boston, graduating Magna cum Laude (1st class).
We've had to resort to her having a bone marrow transplant, as this would give her a chance at living a fulfilling life. We had one done last year at the NIH (National Institute of Health) in Maryland, USA, but sadly, it failed. This is possibly because it is a clinical trials hospital, and the protocol being tested did not work for my daughter. The transplant itself was free, but attendant costs were very challenging to handle, and we experienced God’s provision, and also a lot of goodwill and generosity from friends.
We are currently at City of Hope Hospital in Duarte, California, for another transplant. This hospital is a leading one for transplants, and so, it is not a trial. We are hoping for the best outcomes.
The procedure is sometimes in excess of one million dollars. We have been able to get her insurance coverage, which will take care of 85% of the bill, which leaves us with 15% to pay. We have been able to raise about 15 thousand dollars from family and friends so far.
*Tentative Total*: $135,000
(One hundred and thirty-five thousand dollars only)
I am not ashamed to admit that I do not have this money, and that I need help. This is why I am reaching out through GoFundMe for support.
The money will go towards our co-pay to the hospital when the process is done.
You can help as an individual or involve people you know by spreading the word on my behalf.
Thank you very much in advance for your support,
