Support Bethany’s Fight Against Cancer

Bethany is a devoted wife, mother, and fighter. As a 31-year-old military spouse, she dedicates her life to homeschooling and caring for her three young boys, ages 2, 6, and 9. A faithful Christian, Bethany has always leaned on her faith to guide her through life’s challenges. Now, she needs our help and prayers as she faces the toughest battle of her life.

Bethany’s Journey with Cancer

In 2022, Bethany was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of the submandibular gland. Just one month after giving birth to her youngest son, she underwent surgery in December 2022. Life seemed to move forward, but in August 2024, she discovered another lump in her neck. A second surgery in September 2024 revealed a devastating recurrence of Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma along with a new diagnosis of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma. Unfortunately, she was left with more questions than answers.

Determined to find the best possible care, Bethany sought a second opinion and was accepted into the country’s #1 cancer hospital, MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. There, she received expert medical attention and underwent weeks of tests and evaluations. Then came the heartbreaking news—another tumor was found in her neck, again testing positive for Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma.

Through it all, Bethany has remained steadfast in her faith, trusting that God has a plan for her life. She believes that He is guiding her steps and providing her with strength to face this battle.

The Road Ahead

Bethany is scheduled for a major surgery in early April, where doctors will perform a full right-side neck dissection. After four weeks of recovery, she will return to Houston for six to seven weeks of intensive radiation therapy. Though the journey ahead is daunting, Bethany continues to put her trust in the Lord, knowing that He is with her every step of the way.

Bethany and her family live in San Antonio, where her husband, Michael, is stationed at Lackland Air Force Base. Over the past month and a half, she has traveled between San Antonio and Houston five times to receive critical medical care. Now, as she prepares for surgery and treatment, the financial burden is overwhelming. The cost of living in Houston for two months alone is estimated at $7000, not including travel expenses, medical bills, post-op supplies, and the cost of maintaining their household in San Antonio.
