Help Bethany and Girls Through This Tragic Loss
Donation protected
This GoFundMe is set up to help my brothers family..
Bethany and the girls will be needing funds to help pay for the funeral and for day-to-day living. Like a lot of single income families they lived a life that provided the essentials but not allowing to save for the unexpected. Any donation will be greatly appreciated!
As many of you know, we recently lost our crazy, funny, life-of-the-party brother, Joe.
On Monday, July 28, Joe was trucking in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He called his wife, Bethany, saying he wasn't feeling right at which point communication was lost. Ambulance was called, during the time of trying to locate him, fellow truckers found him unresponsive. EMTs intubated him at the scene and transported him to a local hospital, then later transferred him to Bergen Mercy in Omaha, NE—a hospital that specializes in treating strokes.
There, doctors confirmed what we never wanted to hear: Joe had suffered a massive stroke.
Some of us hit the road late that night and arrived in Omaha. When we arrived a very intelligent nurse named “Jack” (very ironic) throughly explained everything that had taken place, at this point there was no neurologic intervention that could be done.
Bethany and girls along with family were approached by the organ donation team and after a short discussion we felt that we wanted Joe to live on thru others. After thorough testing it was decided that his liver, kidneys, corneas and skin were viable options.
On Wednesday, July 30, 2025 he was taken down for a nuclear brain scan which showed no brain activity at that point he was pronounced dead at 2:48. On Thursday we did the Honor Walk as he was wheeled down to surgery, at this point we said our last goodbyes.
As many of you also know, we lost our dad just last month. There's some comfort in knowing Joe will be with him—probably already telling racing stories and giving Dad someone new to talk to. God must have known Dad needed a good storyteller by his side.
Joe, you have no idea how much we'll miss you—your wit, your charm, your smartass sense of humor, that contagious smile, and your unwavering love for your family. We love you more than you could ever know. We'll keep your memory alive by sharing stories of you.
Please keep Joe's wife Bethany and their 3 beautiful daughters in your prayers as they learn to live a life without their husband and dad...
