Beth Papp is a 23-year-old, nonspeaking person with an autism diagnosis. She did not have a reliable mode of communication until 2022 and has been advocating for herself and other nonspeakers ever since. Like many other young adults with autism diagnoses in Arizona, Beth was placed under full guardianship when she turned 18 years old. Beth advocates for herself and her peers to be allowed to exercise their basic human rights, most of which are legally taken away under guardianship. She is dedicated to bringing attention to these issues until all nonspeakers can exercise their full rights.
