Help Beth Moore Breathe Again

Donation protected

Hello friends and family,

In 2023, our mom, Beth Moore, was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) — a progressive and incurable lung disease that causes lung tissue to become thick, stiff, and scarred over time. While treatments exist to slow the progression, there is currently no cure.

Over the past six months, our family has worked closely with the Cleveland Clinic to explore every possible path forward. After numerous trips, procedures, and evaluations, we received a glimmer of hope: On May 21, 2025, Beth was officially placed on the double lung transplant list at the Cleveland Clinic, one of the top transplant centers in the world.

The opportunity for a transplant offers something priceless — the chance to breathe without struggle, to walk without gasping for air, to laugh and talk without limits, and to simply live more fully. Though a transplant isn’t a cure, it is her best and only chance at an improved, extended life.

On June 18th, we received a call notifying us that a donor match had been identified. Beth promptly traveled to Cleveland. Unfortunately, the lungs were later determined to be non-viable, making the trip a “dry run.” We know this is a possibility and understand that there may be more trips like this before a successful transplant occurs. Then, on June 22nd, we got another call about a new donor match. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the second dry run .

While insurance covers part of the procedure, the out-of-pocket costs will continue to add up. Out-of-pocket costs for the surgery, recovery, and lifelong aftercare are expected to exceed $75,000 — and that’s just the beginning.

This isn’t easy to ask, but any contribution—whether it’s $5, $10, $20, or more—would truly make a difference. Your support will go a long way in covering the significant expenses ahead. Beth will need to temporarily relocate to Cleveland for approximately 3 to 4 months, depending on how her recovery progresses. This includes an expected hospital stay of 3 to 4 weeks, followed by 8 to 12 weeks of recovery in the Cleveland area. She will be accompanied by her caregivers throughout this time.

Your generosity will help lighten the financial burden of these costs, including:

• Pre- and post-surgical care

• Travel and lodging near the Cleveland Clinic

• Lifelong medications to prevent organ rejection

• Regular monitoring, lab work, and follow-up appointments

• Temporary relocation for Beth and her caregivers

We remain hopeful that a call for a donor match comes soon, though it’s something we can’t predict.

Your support means more than words can say. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in Beth’s fight.

With deepest gratitude,

The Moore Family
