Donation protected
On November 12, Bethany was admitted to hospital for a routine heart procedure. She was meant to be home the next morning but unfortunately that is not what happened.
The operation went for twice as long and she was placed in ICU, where she woke up in 10/10 pain with a bleed from her kidney. She was raced back into emergency surgery at midnight and woke up in ICU the next day.
For the next week Bethany was hit with one thing after another as she fought her way through 2 blood transfusions, a collapsed lunge, pneumonia, and a pseudo aneurysm in her leg. She was on high oxygen and had to sleep with a full face mask over night.
After ICU she was put into a heart unit and after 12 days and some physio, she was sent home with a bag of drugs. She is now on the mend and getting better every day.
Bethany has not been able to work since Nov 11 and had to postpone her plans for a new youth work job after she ended up back in hospital from one days training.
The normal bills haven’t stopped, and as a student she doesn’t have much savings.
In Feb Bethany starts her social work prac, where she will work full time for another 3 1/2 months without pay. This summer was meant to be when she saved for that.
We would love it if you could rally around Beth, who we know would be the first to give to someone else in need, so she can just worry about getting better instead of worrying about how to pay for prac.
