For the last 13 years I have known I was non-binary or whatever word existed for it at the time. I remember staying up all night and watching youtube videos of transguys and feeling like I was the same but not the same and thinking they were so brave and that I could never be that brave. I didn't think anyone would love me if I showed them who I really am. So I did a lot of trying to just blend in to avoid the pain of not fitting into society's expectations of what I should be. Turns out I have experienced more pain blending in than I would have if I was true to myself.
In the past 3 years I have done a lot of soul searching. I removed myself from an abusive marriage, made it most of the way through grad school, started my career, and best of all met my fiance! Caroline is one of the most genuine people I have ever met and she is my biggest cheerleader. She has inspired me to finally be true to myself and has shown me that I have the unconditional love and support of so many people in my life.
After a lot of thinking and a lot of therapy I have decided to start my non-binary transition. I have already started the process of obtaining a prescription for hormones that I will microdose in order to achieve a more androgynous/masculine appearance. That brings us to the reason I have started this gofundme! I have wanted to have a flat chest since I first started developing. I remember very clearly the day that I was told that I could no longer play outside with my shirt off. It was devastating. In order to feel more confident and at home in my body I have decided to undergo Non-Binary Gender Affirming Surgery.

Known by many names ie. Top surgery, chest masculinization, double mastectomy, or my favorite... Teet Yeet.
Gender affirming surgery, especially for non-binary people, is not widely covered by insurance. The surgeon that I have chosen is considered to be the most well versed and knowledgable top surgeon in the US. His name is Dr. Charles Garramone and he works out of Davie, Florida. He has been at the forefront of top surgery research and has even patented some of his techniques. His results are the most consistent of any surgeon i've researched (and over the last 13 years, I have seen a lot). On top of having excellent results, he has also made his practice a safe and accepting space for non-binary people like me! He even has an entire page on his website dedicated to non-binary top surgery.
This procedure may or may not be covered by my insurance but I will not know until after the procedure and understandably I need to pay upfront. If I end up being reimbursed by my insurance (not likely) all of the proceeds will be split between my travel costs and 5 other top surgery fundraising campaigns of my choosing. So rest assured that your donation will be changing someone’s life no matter what. The cost of this procedure is broken down like this:
