Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

My name is Beth, and I’m reaching out during one of the toughest times of my life. As a small online business owner and someone battling chronic illness, life has thrown more challenges my way than I ever expected.

Since 2021, I’ve endured multiple surgeries, hospital stays, and misdiagnoses that have taken a toll on my health, finances, and mental well-being.

Despite it all, I’ve done everything I can to keep my business running and stay positive.

My fiancé Chas, a retired teacher, has been my rock through it all.

This year, we finally began to see light at the end of the tunnel—my diagnosis became clearer, and I was starting to recover. But in October, everything changed again. I faced another hospital stay due to complications, Chas injured his back, and just last week, our car’s engine completely gave out.

This car isn’t just a vehicle for us—it’s our lifeline. It gets us to medical appointments, enables me to keep my small business running, and provides independence during a time when everything feels uncertain.

Thanks to some unexpected insurance coverage we discovered, a large portion of the engine repair is being taken care of, but we still need to raise $4,500 in total to cover all the repairs. This includes a new engine with a 3-year/100k-mile warranty, brake and rotor fixes, and ensuring the car is road-ready again.

We urgently need the car repaired as soon as possible. Chas’s out-of-town medical appointment has been pushed back to later this month, and I have an important out-of-town appointment coming up in February. Having reliable transportation is critical for both of us to manage our health and stay on top of these challenges.
